Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, commonly known as a "boob job," involves enhancing breast volume through the placement of silicone implants or fat transfer to improve size and appearance. This cosmetic procedure offers flexibility in implant positioning, whether above or below chest muscles. Silicone implants, being inert and non- reactive, pose no harm to the body.
The strategic placement of implants beneath the glands has no impact on lactation, allowing women to safely breastfeed post-surgery. Breast augmentation serves various purposes, including primary aesthetic enhancement for those with smaller or uneven breasts, revision and reconstruction to refine prior surgeries, and primary reconstruction for addressing breast tissue damage from trauma or medical procedures.
Ideal candidates for breast augmentation are physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy individuals with realistic expectations. This includes women seeking symmetrical breasts due to perceived size imbalances. The procedure typically lasts 1-2 hours, conducted under general or local anesthesia with sedation. Selected cases may involve same-day admission and discharge, with clients resuming work within 3-5 days. Routine activities can commence on the day of the procedure once anesthesia effects wear off. Scars are strategically placed below the breast fold, remaining inconspicuous unless manually lifting the breast
Breast Reduction (Reduction mammoplasty)
When breasts exceed a size that aligns with the body's proportions, it can result in social discomfort and awkwardness. Beyond the emotional impact, excessively large breasts limit engagement in recreational activities like jogging, dancing, swimming, and sports. The challenges extend to issues such as back and shoulder pain, along with difficulties in maintaining hygiene below the breasts, leading to rashes in the inframammary fold. Moreover, the weight of large breasts may cause grooves on the shoulders from bra straps.
These concerns find effective resolution through breast reduction surgery, a day-care procedure that can reduce up to 3-4 cup/band sizes in a single session. This surgery provides relief from both the physical and emotional challenges associated with disproportionately large breasts.
