Melasma

Melasma

Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by the development of brown or greyish-brown patches, usually on the face. It is often associated with hormonal changes, sun exposure, and genetic factors. Treatment approaches for melasma include topical medications containing hydroquinone, tretinoin, and corticosteroids. Additionally, non-ablative laser treatments and chemical peels may be considered to reduce pigmentation. Sun protection with broad-spectrum sunscreen is crucial in managing melasma, as exposure to sunlight can exacerbate the condition. At our center, we tailor treatment plans based on the severity and individual characteristics of melasma in each patient.
